Food & Beverage

Food manufacturers who require the mixing or suspension of liquid ingredients have found Pulsair™ mixers to be an economical solution to production mixing.

With no mechanical equipment or moving parts inside the tank, contamination concerns from mixing equipment are eliminated. Combinations of liquids can be mixed quickly or held in suspension indefinitely with very little demand on energy requirements.

Pulsair™ small to medium size mixers adapt well to typical food product volumes, and are programmable to 24 hour control on any number of containers of any size.

Chocolate

Pulsair™ PTM 2000 mixers are used to mobilise waste heels during rail car tank cleaning and to help level chocolate when filling tank cars.

Confectionery Starch

Pulsair™ re-suspends confectionery starch mixed with 50% glucose syrup in less than 10 minutes.  A subsequent test involved a heavier confectionery starch with an extremely viscous consistency mixed in a 66% inverted syrup base.  The product was in a 70L open head drum which separated into a 40mm thick glutinous mass on the surface.  Using the smallest Pulsair™ mixer, it took about 20 minutes to suspend the bulk of the material.  Similarly, a citrus oil emulsion base for soft drinks in a TNT Flexisol IBC had the solids suspended in 4 minutes by moving the Pulsair™ probe to the corners of the tank.

Food Oil

A customer was experiencing considerable fallout from its 237,000-gallon tank of unrefined oil.  Fallout was collected at the bottom of the tank resulting in a recurring need to take the tank out of service for cleaning.  A Pulsair™ system was installed, substituting nitrogen for air which utlised only 20 cubic meters per hour.

As the raw oil varies in density it tends to stratify during storage. Pulsair™ mixers homogenise the feed stocks and eliminate the need for constant adjustment to the refining equipment so the final product is more consistent and of higher quality.

Mustard

Pulsair™ can effectively dissolve dry mustard in a mixture of vinegar and water provided that the powder is added gradually.

Olives

Pulsair™ achieves uniform coloration through oxidation without chemicals. Pulsair™ moves the entire volume of olives in the container across the surface of the vessel thousands of times a day, ensuring each olive receives the same level of exposure to the air.
